Consultation Centres (PK) function as first-contact institutions for small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2007 around 190 were in service. PKs provide free information services with respect to issues associated with entrepreneurial activities and enterprise management. The role of a PK advisor is to identify the available assistance programmes and to provide detailed information as to the conditions for the granting of assistance. Among PKs, an important player is the National System of SME Services.
