Development of Estern Poland

The Assumption of the Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland (OP DEP) is to accelerate the social and economic growth ratio in the voivodships of the so called Eastern Wall (Lubelskie voivodship, Podkarpackie voivodship, Podlaskie voivodship, Świętokrzyskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodship). The projects realised as a part of the OP DEP will be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The funds granted for this aim amount to over 2.2 billion. The Agency will be in charge of five OP DEP priorities:
  1. Modern economy (support will be given, inter alia, to the projects regarding innovation development and efficient transfer of innovative technologies)

  2. Infrastructure of the information society (the projects to be financed include, among others, those aimed to develop and upgrade the telecommunications network and the Internet)

  3. Voivodship development centres (support will be given, inter alia, to the projects consisting of improving the operation and construction of the municipal collective transport systems and infrastructure of congress and trade-fair tourism)

  4. Transport infrastructure (the projects to be financed include, among others, initiatives related to road infrastructure construction, reconstruction, modernisation, renovation or development)

  5. Sustainable development of the tourism potential based on the natural conditions (projects on the construction of bicycle paths will be implemented).

The group of beneficiaries of the programme is large – starting with colleges, through territorial self-government units, enterprises, and ending up with non-governmental organisations. Programme priorities are managed by Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, it develops the procedure manual, and will conclude the agreements on the projects’ financing, and will control their implementation and settlement, as well as carry out the information and promotion activities.
