Project description

PIS specialises in the construction of water, sewage and gas systems, treatment plants, pumping stations and water intakes for logistics centres throughout Poland. Our clients are leading construction companies, which means that very high geotechnical parameters have to be met in our work, regarding: strength, bearing capacity and soil compaction. Under the project we have implement innovative solutions in the field of soil compaction, using new, highly active binders. They make it possible to maintain good parameters of load-bearing capacity and soil compaction from linear excavations even on less stable soils where investments are carried out, and to manage fly ashes from the combustion process in the energy industry. In addition, this method reduces the need to remove and manage non-compactable soils from excavations, and to import sand necessary for soil compaction.

To achieve the project objective we have purchased 10 pieces of state-of-the-art equipment: a tracked excavator, 6 vibratory rollers, 2 soil compactors and a dump truck.

The project has contributed to a reduction of CO2 emissions by 25 tons per year due to lower emissions of exhaust fumes by the new construction machines, and a reduction in energy intensity of the works. 1 050 tons of generated waste (ash and waste soil) is managed per year by using fly ash for soil compaction. The time taken by PIS to carry out linear works has been reduced by 35%. The increase in production capacity allows us to execute several new orders simultaneously. As a result, our developer clients get faster, cheaper and high quality execution of earthworks contracts, regardless of geotechnical soil parameters.
