In 2010-2014, the real growth rate of GDP in Kazakhstan surpassed GDP growth in Poland, while in 2015- 2020 Polish economic growth was and is expected (according to IMF and PKO forecasts) to be stronger than Kazakh growth.

In 2015-2016, Kazakhstan’s GDP growth slowed to a low 1.1%-1.2% year-on-year due to falling oil prices and lower demand from major trading partners (Russia, China and the EU). The IMF predicts a slight acceleration in economic growth to 2.5% year-on-year in 2017, with an increase in oil production and consequent significant budget spending. According to IMF forecasts, in 2018-2020 Kazakhstan’s GDP growth will be in the range of 2.8%-3.4% year-on-year.

The highest growth in Polish exports to Kazakhstan among 30 groups with the highest volume in 2016 was recorded in the following categories: diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor components, photosensitive semiconductor devices including photovoltaic, light emitting diodes, piezoelectric crystals (3438.0%); refrigerators, freezers and other refrigerating or freezing equipment, heat pumps other than air conditioners (450.4%); bulldozers, diggers, shovels, loaders, mechanical tampering machines and self-propelled rollers (172.5%) and milk and cream, concentrated or containing added sugar or other sweetener (56.5%).
